In Maine, a failed inspection gives you 60 days to make the repairs and return for a free re-inspection. We'll give you a written list of exactly what failed and a no-pressure quote to fix it.
If you want to get the repairs done elsewhere, that's fine — we won't hold your paperwork hostage. You can come back for the re-inspection after.
"Failed at another shop, got a huge quote. Came here, they fixed just what needed fixing and charged me $200 less. Got my sticker the same day." — Standish customer, 2025
If your check engine light is on, you will fail inspection — period. Maine uses the OBD II system to check your vehicle's readiness monitors. All monitors need to be "ready" and no fault codes can be active.
Common trap: People get their codes cleared at AutoZone, then come in for inspection — and still fail because the monitors haven't reset. We'll tell you upfront if this is likely before you waste your money on the inspection fee.
For a clean vehicle with no obvious issues: 30–45 minutes. If we find something that needs addressing, we'll let you know immediately and discuss options before proceeding.
We're at 129 Ossipee Trail W — the main Route 25 corridor through Standish, easy to find, easy to get in and out.
Customers come to us from Standish, Gorham, Windham, Buxton, Limington, Cornish, Baldwin, Sebago, and Raymond. If you're on Ossipee Trail or Route 25, we're on your route.

Maine state inspections are $12.50 by state regulation for passenger vehicles. That's the inspection sticker fee. Labor is minimal — you're not paying for a multi-hour process.
Do I need an appointment?
We prefer call-ahead — it lets us schedule the bay properly so you're not waiting. Walk-ins are welcome but may wait longer depending on the day.
Can you inspect commercial vehicles?
Call us to discuss. We handle most light commercial trucks and vans. Heavy commercial requires a specialized facility.
My sticker expired last month. Am I in trouble?
Driving with an expired sticker in Maine is a traffic violation. Get it done — the fine is worse than the inconvenience. Call us and we'll get you in quickly.
